Fused silica brick is a type of refractory product made from electrically fused and purified high-purity quartz sand (typically with an SiO₂ content ≥ 99%) through pressing and sintering processes.
Key Features of This Product Include:
Low Thermal Expansion: Extremely low linear expansion coefficient (similar to quartz glass), offering excellent volume stability at high temperatures. Expansion joints are not required during installation.
High-Temperature Resistance: Can withstand direct contact with high-temperature melts such as molten steel and glass. For example, the service temperature of submerged entry nozzle bricks for continuous casting can exceed 1500°C.
Erosion Resistance: Exhibits superior resistance to chemical attack from acidic media, chloride ions, molten glass, etc.
Thermal Shock Stability: Resistant to cracking under rapid temperature changes, making it suitable for hot repair scenarios with frequent thermal cycling.
Glass Industry: Lining bricks for glass melting furnaces, resistant to erosion by molten glass. They are mainly used in high-temperature areas such as glass furnace crowns, suspended baffle bricks, and hot repair bricks for melting tank roofs, making them particularly suitable for working environments with frequent temperature fluctuations. In practical applications, S-98 Calcium free demonstrates better high-temperature performance and longer service life compared to S-99 Zero-inflated, though at a relatively higher cost.
Steel Industry: Submerged entry nozzle bricks for continuous casting (applicable to all steel grades except high-manganese steel).
Coke Ovens & Hot Blast Stoves: Special bricks for hot repair of furnace structures, enabling rapid restoration of equipment sealing.
Other Fields: High - temperature components in the defense industry.
