Product Description

Refractory mortar is a paste or powder monolithic material used for laying and bonding refractory bricks. Composed of fine powders, binders, and additives that are chemically compatible with the paired bricks, it is mixed with water or a specific liquid before application. Its primary function is to fill brick joints. After air-setting or sintering at high temperatures, it bonds individual bricks into a strong and sealed monolithic structure, effectively preventing the penetration of hot gases, molten materials, and corrosive fumes. It is a key auxiliary material crucial for ensuring brick lining longevity and furnace operational safety.

Application

Refractory mortar is widely used in all high-temperature industrial equipment with brickwork structures. Selection must strictly match the material of the refractory bricks and the service environment.

Glass Industry: Laying bricks for precise structures like glass furnace crowns, breastwalls, and regenerators.

Chemical & Power: Refractory brick linings for petrochemical cracking furnaces, power plant boilers, and waste incinerators.

Maintenance & Repair:

Joint Filling & Sealing: For local repair and sealing of joint material after natural wear or erosion during furnace operation.

Lining Refurbishment: Used as bonding material when replacing damaged bricks during furnace overhaul.
